October 28, 2026 Dinner Meeting and Presentation

The Deegan Inn of Court’s October 28, 2026 dinner meeting took place at our usual location at Loft 84 in downtown Riverside. Our new President, Hon. John Vineyard, opened the meeting by welcoming everyone, and displaying the certificate we received for achieving Platinum status in the American Inn of Court’s Achieving Excellence program again during the last program year.

The presentation this month was by the team led by Hon. Malvina Ovanezova. The team was tasked with presenting on discovery issues in a prominent lawsuit, with an emphasis on the Inn’s values of professionalism and civility. The team’s name chosen name reflects that topic, with an October Halloween touch: “Team Ghosts of Discovery Past.” The team used the Menendez Brothers trials as the organizing theme for their discussion.

At the conclusion of the presentation, Deegan Inn members were invited to score the presentation from a ranking of 1 (worst) to 5 (best). The team and winning presentation will be announced at the September 2027 Orientation Meeting.
